2010 – The Year of Change

I’ve been trying to write this post since the 27th of December. Constantly rewriting, going of on tangents and probably sharing too much, but it’s allowed me to at least have a conversation with myself about what I’ve achieved, what went wrong and what I’m going to do differently this year.?

Last year was the most successful year I’ve had in the short 25 years I’ve been here, although it definitely didn’t start off like that. After losing my job via a txt message in 2009, I was struggling to get motivated to do anything and as a result, lost the one woman I thought I might actually spend the rest of my life with. I didn’t feel in control of my anything any more, especially as I was used to being able to get a job with no problem at all.?

I started to concentrate a lot of my time on Rhubarb Radio, helping out with the website and presenting my own weekly Saturday morning breakfast show. Through Rhubarb I’ve some amazing people, all of which helped me to get through several months of not being able to find a job. I was lucky enough to go to New York and Barcelona in the space of a few months, set up a company that does exactly what I’ve always wanted to do and, possibly the most significant milestone, I learnt to drive.

Here’s to more accomplishments in 2011, so far it’s been a slow start, but I’ve got faith if you have.?
